International Faculty Seminar


The International Faculty Seminars sponsored by the California State University through the Academic Council on International Programs (ACIP) are designed to provide international experiences for faculty of diverse disciplines from all CSU campuses.  The mission of the CSU International Programs (CSU IP), a system-wide unit operating from within the CSU Chancellor's Office in Long Beach, is to develop intercultural communication skills and international understanding among CSU students and faculty.

PREVIOUS SEMINARS

TOKYO, JAPAN June 19-23, 2023
In 2023, CSU International Programs (CSU IP) International Faculty Partnership Seminar took place in Tokyo, Japan, at Waseda University and Tsukuba University from June 19 – 23, 2023. The seminar provided international experiences for faculty of diverse disciplines from the CSU campuses. Participants learned more about CSU IP and the experiences of students participating in them while interacting with faculty colleagues from our partner universities and CSU campuses.

TÜBINGEN, GERMANY SUMMER 2022

In 2022, this conference focused on interdisciplinary dialogues. To frame the discussions, the seminar was structured along four tracks encompassing a wide range of disciplines. All sessions included presenters from both Baden-Württemberg and California State Universities.

PARIS, FRANCE SUMMER 2019
In 2019, the CSU and MICEFA celebrated 25 years of partnership. The France Seminar focused on interdisciplinary dialogues that addressed France and California's shared similar challenges of migration, managing diversity, climate change, sustainable energy, cultural identities, and an evolving marketplace.​ All sessions included presenters from both California State Universities and MICEFA Member Universities (Paris and its region).

ACCRA, GHANA SUMMER 2018
CSU IP Ghana International Faculty Seminar Conference Proceedings
In 2018, the CSU and the University of Ghana celebrated 12 years of partnership. The theme of the seminar was 'Ghana Calls'. It comes from the title of a poem written by a renowned scholar and Pan-Africanist Dr. W.E.B. DuBois. During the seminar attendees from various disciplines gained new insights and learned techniques to approach education, research, and communication in Ghanain and African context.
