Global Community Engagement
Act Locally. Grow Globally.
This Is Global Community Engagement through CSU International Programs.
Through CSU IP, you're not just crossing borders, you're building bridges. Global Community Engagement is your chance to connect with the people, issues, and opportunities that define our world. Wherever you study, there's a way to contribute, learn, and grow.
This is your chance to live globally—and act locally.
What Is Global Community Engagement?
Global Community Engagement means using your time abroad to connect with real people, real issues, and real communities - and contributing in a way that’s respectful, collaborative, and impactful.
- Showing up, not just as a visitor or student tourist, but as a temporary neighbor
- Listening first, learning always, and helping where it’s needed and wanted
- Joining local efforts that align with global goals like education, health, climate, or equity
You’re not “saving the world.” You’re becoming part of it - through shared work, shared goals, and shared growth.
It all started in 1966.
When a devastating flood hit Florence, Italy, CSU IP students joined hundreds of young people from around the world to save priceless artworks and books. They were called the Mud Angels. That moment defined what it means to be part of a global community.
